About Erika Milanova
Ten years of turning tangled problems into clear products.
The story
From messy briefs to products people trust.
I am Erika, a product designer working remotely with teams around the world. For the better part of a decade I have partnered with startups, agencies, and in-house product teams to take vague, ambitious ideas and turn them into interfaces people actually understand.
I came up through both UX and visual design, which is why I care as much about the reasoning behind a flow as I do about the kerning in the final screen. Good products need both.
My mission: good design should not be a luxury reserved for the biggest budgets. The teams building genuinely useful tools deserve interfaces that respect the people using them.
What makes it different
How I am different from hiring "a designer".
- I embed like a teammate, in your standups, your docs, your Slack, not parachuting in for a deliverable and leaving.
- I am comfortable in ambiguity. Half-formed briefs and shifting scope are normal; I help you find the shape of the problem.
- I design for the handoff. Named layers, tokens, and documented components mean engineers build it right the first time.
- I think in systems, not screens, so your product stays coherent as it grows past the first release.
- Accessibility is a requirement, not an afterthought. Contrast, focus states, and keyboard flows are part of the spec.

"The cleanest handoff we have had. Every component was named, spaced, and documented. Engineering barely had questions."
